Airport Bulky Pickups in Kenya
JKIA Cargo Collection & Upcountry Delivery
Dial and Move
When heavy, bulky, or specialist cargo arrives at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), getting it safely collected and delivered to its final destination — whether in Nairobi or hundreds of kilometres upcountry — requires a logistics partner with the right vehicles, the right equipment, and the right experience. Dial and Move Kenya provides professional airport cargo collection and upcountry delivery services, handling everything from customs clearance coordination to final-mile delivery at any destination in Kenya.
One of our most notable airport logistics projects was the collection and delivery of heavy mining equipment for a Korean mining company from JKIA to Eldoret — a complex, high-value logistics operation that demonstrated our capability at the highest level.
Case Study: Korean Mining Company – JKIA to Eldoret
The Client
A Korean mining company operating in Kenya's North Rift region needed to collect heavy mining equipment and specialist machinery that had arrived at JKIA as air freight cargo. The equipment needed to be transported from JKIA to their operational site in Eldoret — a distance of approximately 310 km via the Nakuru Highway.
The Challenge
This airport logistics project presented several significant challenges. The mining equipment was extremely heavy and bulky, requiring specialist vehicles and loading equipment. Customs clearance coordination at JKIA required precise timing and documentation. The JKIA to Eldoret route required careful planning for oversized load transport. The equipment was high-value and mission-critical for the mining operation, meaning any damage or delay had significant financial consequences. And the Korean client required international-standard logistics documentation and communication throughout the process.
Our Approach
Dial and Move Kenya coordinated closely with the Korean company's logistics team and their customs clearing agent at JKIA. We deployed appropriate heavy-duty vehicles and loading equipment for the collection. Our team was on standby at JKIA to collect the equipment immediately upon customs clearance. We secured all loads appropriately for the long-distance Nairobi-Eldoret journey. And we maintained real-time communication with the client throughout the collection and delivery process.
The Result
The mining equipment was collected from JKIA promptly upon customs clearance and delivered to the client's Eldoret site safely and on schedule. The Korean company praised our professionalism, communication standards, and ability to handle high-value, time-sensitive airport logistics. This project established Dial and Move Kenya as a trusted partner for international clients requiring airport cargo collection and upcountry delivery in Kenya.
"Dial and Move Kenya collected our mining equipment from JKIA and delivered it to Eldoret with exceptional professionalism. Their communication and logistics standards matched our international requirements. We will use them again for all our Kenya logistics needs." — Logistics Manager, Korean Mining Company, Eldoret.
